100W Ground Mounted Solar Project

Waaree RTL commissioned the entire EPC of a 100 MW ground-mounted utility-scale solar power plant

Clients Overview

Waaree RTL commissioned the entire EPC of a 100 MW ground-mounted utility-scale solar power plant, commissioned in 2024, spread over three strategic sites in the Kalavad area, Jamnagar district, Gujarat. The plant is spread over five identical blocks for operational efficiency and scalability. With high-performance 545 Wp bifacial half-cut monocrystalline modules and state-of-the-art centralised inverters with 1500 V DC and three-level NPC topology, the plant offers strong performance. Power is drained through a trusty 33 kV network. Producing 160 million units of clean energy per year, the project reduces about 131,200 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions and has a remarkable environmental contribution. This project best illustrates Waaree RTL's capability in installing robust, efficient solar structures on rugged terrain.

Challenges Faced

Construction of a 100 MW plant over rugged terrain required a modular design, optimal land utilisation, sophisticated inverter technology, and reliable evacuation infrastructure, all of which demanded accurate engineering and scalable implementation across multiple, scattered blocks.

Why They Choose Waaree

MRPL chose Waaree RTL due to its ability to provide modular, scalable solar infrastructure under challenging site conditions, utilise high-efficiency bifacial modules, deploy sophisticated centralised inverters, and provide reliable grid evacuation with performance-oriented execution.

Our Approach

Solutions Implemented

Waaree RTL designed and commissioned a 100 MW ground-based solar power plant in three sites in Jamnagar, structured into five similar, scalable blocks. The design includes 545 Wp bifacial half-cut monocrystalline modules for maximum energy harvesting with reflective ground adjustment. Central inverters (1500 V DC, three-level NPC) were installed for superior conversion efficiency and thermal management. The 33 kV evacuation infrastructure was well designed to provide stable power transfer to the grid. The modularity supported easy installation and maintenance from block to block. The system now produces nearly 160 million kWh every year, with a performance ratio of 81.6%, and a considerably minimised environmental footprint. Execution applied high safety and quality standards, demonstrating Waaree's capability to provide reliable, efficient solar power systems tailored for complicated, spaced-out utility-scale projects in challenging terrain.

Outcome

The MRPL solar project provides 100 MW of clean energy through an efficient, modular ground-mounted system, supplying around 160 million kWh per year. With an impressive performance ratio of 81.6%, the design optimises energy output effectively through 545 Wp bifacial modules and sophisticated three-level inverters. A robust 33 kV infrastructure ensures the efficient evacuation of power. The plant reduces ~131,200 metric tonnes of CO₂ per annum, further strengthening environmental advantages. Arranged in five similar blocks over three locations, the modularity provides maintainable operations and scalability. Finished with utmost safety and quality, the project is a utility-scale solar EPC excellence, specially designed for challenging geographies and accurate energy performance.
